The Kittiwake Trust Multilingual Library
A multilingual Library with around 20,000 books in over 120 languages and dialects. The library moved to its current location in 2023 into the building of the former Gloucester pub, opposite the register office of the Civic Centre As an independent library we charge an annual membership fee of £5 – free for refugees, asylum applicants and NHS workers. Our Multilingual Library was the first in the North East to be awarded the title of Library of Sanctuary.

Open: 6-10pm
Visit the library which houses books in more than 100 languages while listening to poets reading their work in many different languages, there’ll also be ad-hoc music performances throughout the evening.
