The Shipley will be hosting a night of recycling and making by local community, crafters and creative groups. Visitors will be able to take part in a sustainable art workshop with the Comfrey Project; clippy matt making with Fingers and Thumbs; the Mindful Monsterz project with The Crafty Fairies; quilt making with North East Modern Quilters; and see a weaving and spinning demonstration with The Weavers (6-8pm). Music will be from Gateshead Music Service and Sage Gateshead, including the West Newcastle Symphony Orchestra, formed out of the In Harmony programme led by Sage Gateshead, 6-7pm and Low Fell Singers, 8-9pm.
