Gateshead Central Library will be buzzing with activity with its Birds and Bees theme! Sew your own felt birds and bees in the library; explore MakerPlace, and watch a laser cutter engrave your name on a bee themed keyring to take away. Visit the Archive where birds and bees are literally part of the walls, courtesy of one-time Gateshead resident and world-famous wood artist Thomas Bewick. Bewickâs illustrations are featured throughout the new Archive along with thousands of items about the history of Gateshead and local area. Get crafty with cut and make activities inspired by the archive collections, or join artist Simon Terry to make your own bird collage inspired by his exhibition in the gallery.
