DAN'S EYE: Newcastle 1963, T Dan Smith - 55 years on, an exhibition premiere of photographs by the controversial Newcastle politician: the demolitions, the new building, May Day 1963. How many times can you see DAN 68, his personalised car registration, in the background? These rare, never publicly shown photographs, were recently re-discovered in the AmberSide Collection.

SUTURING THE CITY Sammy Baloji - T Dan Smith, with his interest in Third World urban development, would have been fascinated by Baloji's exploration of Congolese cities. Colonial, post-colonial and neo-liberal ambitions intersect, while the infrastructures on which they rely collapse around them.
