The historic Central Library will open its doors to the Time Bandits, a professional team of historical costumed interpreters and re-enactors. Roam the Library after dark for a gothic novel showcase. Celebrate the 200th anniversary of Shelley’s Frankenstein and the gothic genre in all its glory. Atmospheric readings and performances with showings of the iconic 1931 screen adaptation of Frankenstein (drop-in). View original Victorian crime posters from the Library’s historic collections and drop into the Storm in a Jar workshops for a bit of ‘electric’ fun. Enjoy a tipple or two at the bar and shop for unique books, gifts, stationary and homewares at the new Library Gift Shop.
