71. Celebrating Shakespeare

14th May Saturday Only

Open: 7-11pm

An evening of performance, fashion, music, film and more every hour. Help us commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Great Bard’s death with an evening of very special events. Witness a spectacular Tudor Fashion show by celebrated designer Julia Soares-McCormick while the People’s Theatre perform notable scenes across the evening from Shakespeare’s dark and bloody re-writing of history, Richard III. There will be regular film showings throughout the evening of Shakespeare’s work along with an interactive quiz to test your knowledge of Britain’s most famous playwright. Also take this opportunity to visit a unique exhibition of Shakespeare material hosted on our Heritage floor alongside a special arts and crafts workshop. In addition the City Library café will be open, providing Bard-themed refreshments!
