BALTIC’s project space hosts Alt:Mix, a multimedia exhibition which focuses of the ethics relating to digital. Exploring themes of surveillance, security and privacy the exhibition is created by Art Mix (previously Blah Blah Blah) a group of 14-19 years olds who meet regularly to take part in unique opportunities at BALTIC. For one-night only, an artist intervention FieldVenturer One will connect BALTIC 39 with its parent venue, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead. Inspired by NASA's Mars rovers, FieldVenturer One is a small tracked drone vehicle controlled remotely to collect video, photographs and data. Drop in and direct FieldVenturer One from a temporary command centre at BALTIC 39, where a large projection will show readings from the drone vehicle as it explores BALTIC's larger gallery on the quayside. A collaboration of the Warwick Stafford Fellow, Stuart Tait and the Woon Fellow, Kayt Hughes, also takes place in the Woon project space on the ground floor.
