Open: 7-10:30pm

Explore the historical Black Gate and Castle Keep of Newcastle Castle. Plus, between 7.30 and 9.30pm, Newcastle musician Simon Wood will play the ‘hang’ – an instrument made from steel which sounds like no other you have ever heard. With its rich tones, the hang is a modern instrument which sounds futuristic and ancient at the same time. The acoustics of the amazing Great Hall will bring out the beautifully haunting tones of this remarkable instrument. From slow meditative sounds to highly-charged beats, the hang needs to be heard to be believed. Kindly supported by the Hadrian Arts Trust.
